LONELINESS OF THE SELFISH NARCISSIST

When people’s needs for dependence, nurturance, affection, esteem, recognition, autonomy, etc. are frustrated, they experience hurt and react with anger. However, if we do not acknowledge our needs and frustration, we begin to look for reasons to be angry at others faults. This is common in married couples who blame each other with disproportionate anger. Such anger could repel the other, distancing him/her from you, thus leaving you lonely. This anger could also be in the form of hurt, depression and withdrawal, instead of over anger, and this too sets the stage for loneliness.
