
The selfish individual needs to stop referring to his rigid demands as needs, and change from his insistent demands to having preferences.
He needs to take into account and empathize with the valid needs of others.
He needs to shift out of his comfort zones, increase his frustration tolerance, and accept that life need not be super perfect; and that striving for perfection can only frustrate yourself and others.
He needs to stop terrorizing people to buckle to his dictates, holding the relationship to ransom in his way, and learn to adapt to the fact that things may not always turn out the way he desires.
